So many thanks to all who so generously gave of their time and helped
in again making this another great big success. Many thanks to Charlyn
Oinas for chairing and organizing the sale.
If you missed the ”Cowboys and Indians” dinner dance, it was a lot of
fun and the food was great. Everyone enjoyed the Prescott Playboys
band. It was hosted by our E.R., Rock Anderson.
Try not to miss the :Corn Fest: on August 14th. Music will be by B.C.
Chips, plus great food and all the Young’s Farm corn you can eat. It
will be hosted by Jim Trantham.
The next Board Meeting will be on August 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at the Lodge.
The Out to Lunch will be on August 10th at Macayo’s Mexican Restaurant.
It is located in the Gateway Mall, 3250 Gateway Blvd. Please be sure to

August 2004 Elks Tales
What a wonderful time everyone had at the 50’s & 60’s Dinner Dance.
The burgers, fries and root beer floats were excellent, plus those
delicious brownies baked by Judy Marley. Hats off to both Richard and
Judy Marley, the perfect host and hostess, for doing such a great job.
I would like to thank all the Elks Ladies for
the baking of cookies for the Flag Day Event at the VAMC. The ceremony
was again very inspirational and educational ... and moving. Everyone
enjoyed the cookies, ice cold punch and coffee.
It’s time again for our Annual Rummage and
Bake Sale, so be sure to bring all your unwanted “White Elephants” in
on Saturday the 10th of July from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon. Our
Rummage and Bake Sale will be held on Sunday the 11th between 8:00 AM
and 2:00 PM. Our 2nd Vice president Charlyn Oinas, chairman of the
sale, will be happy to help bring your items to the Lodge by calling
her at 778-9555. We will be serving coffee, donuts and soft drinks for
a small donation.
Our board meeting will be on Monday July 5th
at 10:00 AM. Our regular monthly meeting will be July 13th; Out to

June
2004 Elks Tales
Many thanks to all the ladies who baked cookies for the
“Youth Awards Ceremony”. What a great feeling is was to see so many of
our youth receiving so many awards such as scholarships, savings bonds
and trophies. What a wonderfiul turnout we had for the Mothers Day Ceremony and brunch. I have been told the attendance was around 143. The ceremony itself was very moving with a memorable oration given by Waldo Bennier, a good job. And much thanks to the PER’s and Chef Michael

June 8th.
Out to Lunch will be at 11:00 AM at the Red Lobster in Prescott. Please call Marge Fontana for reservations. Her phone number is 775-5705. The Lodge will also be having a Mother’s Day Brunch and Ceremony on May 9th at 10:00 AM, plus an Armed Forces Day Dinner Dance on May 22nd and a Memorial Day steak fry on May 31st. I also want to thank all the ladies who volunteered to bake cookies for the VAMC hospital this month. It’s time to start saving for our “Rummage and Bake Sale” on July 11th. We need all your unwanted “White Elephants” to make this a big success. Below is a proposed addition to our by-laws. A vote approving the changehas already been taken by our membership. Duties of Officers
Section 11 Shall read: “It shall be the duty of the flag Bearer to
carry the American Flag at the beginning and conclusion of each
Business Meeting and any other functions deemed necessary.” Section 11
shall become Section 12. “Flag Bearer will then be installed under
Installation of Officers each new year.”
